We took the boys up to our friends' Meredith and Shawn's cottage in Bracebridge. There were 3 couples and 6 kids altogether, and we all had a great time on the water, playing games and the adults had a late night by the campfire.
In February, we took Noah and Jacob to the Orillia Winter Carnival. There was the annual ice castle where kids love to slide down. There was also a polar bear dip and an animal petting tent. It was a great way to spend the day outside.
As a "romantic" surprise this year, I took Jen up to Bear's Trail Resort in Algonquin Park. What an amazing and relaxing time. Jaccuzzi tub beside the king size bed; sauna and multi-head shower. Wonderful cuisine. We recommend it to anyone wanting to get away as a couple.
Noah and Jacob have started taking swimming lessons. They love the water and are getting better and more comfortable each time we go. This summer should be loads of fun!
Last week we went to the Wye Marsh in Midland. The kids loved hiking, looking at all the animals and "dip-netting"...where they scooped up critters from the water...Noah caught lots of bugs and a minnow.
Here are the boys taking a walk through Grant's Woods on Division Road, just on the outskirts of Orillia in mid October. It was still warm (mid to high teen's)...but this past week we saw a very light sprinkle of snow!!! Oh Canada!
